Adam + Keylee’s Tall Grass Prairie Elopement

I am so excited to share with you the intimate story of Adam + Keylee’s Tall Grass Prairie Elopement in Pawhuska, OK! It was a beautiful winter day and the golden plains would make you think it was mid-summer! I am passionate about sharing with my readers free and inexpensive places to experience your intimate wedding or elopement. The Tall Grass Prairie offers a stunning and liberating setting for your wedding day!

Adam + Keylee’s Story

Adam and Keylee tied the knot in the fall of 2021, celebrating with a grand traditional wedding and reception. However, they continued to desire a day that was more intimate. They wanted to be able to enjoy one another and capture portraits that truly told the story of their love. I felt incredibly honored when they contacted me. Together, we celebrated with an elopement styled day at the Tall Grass Prairie.

The Big Day

Keylee and I spent weeks messaging about the day and the special details we would include. Keylee chose to wear both her original gown and a new style as well that she purchased from Azazie. If you are looking for a budget friendly but gorgeous gown for your wedding or elopement, I highly recommend checking them out! She also brought along the details from their wedding day, like invitations, jewelry, perfume, shoes and other items to re-photograph and document in a new way on their elopement day!

We started the day with a first look on the prairie, which was so special since Adam + Keylee didn’t get the opportunity to do this on their original wedding day. After the first look, we did a few portraits before heading to another location. When we arrived at the second shooting location, we set up a picnic with champagne and pastries from Lynn’s Bakery to celebrate the occasion. While Adam + Keylee enjoyed one another, I took the time to capture detail shots. Before the sun left us for the night, we adventured down to a nearby creek where we photographed more portraits.

I loved getting to document the happy couple in their natural banter and conversations! On our way home, we were even able to take a few shots after dark using just my car’s headlights. These are still some of my favorite shots I’ve taken! I’m so thankful that Adam + Keylee trusted me with this memory.
